Here is the official cover and summary for Cassandra Clare’s latest installment to her bestselling Shadowhunter series.

Would you trade your soul mate for your soul?

A Shadowhunter’s life is bound by duty. Constrained by honor. The word of a Shadowhunter is a solemn pledge, and no vow is more sacred than the vow that binds parabatai, warrior partners—sworn to fight together, die together, but never to fall in love.

Emma Carstairs has learned that the love she shares with her parabatai, Julian Blackthorn, isn’t just forbidden—it could destroy them both. She knows she should run from Julian. But how can she when the Blackthorns are threatened by enemies on all sides?

Their only hope is the Black Volume of the Dead, a spell book of terrible power. Everyone wants it. Only the Blackthorns can find it. Spurred on by a dark bargain with the Seelie Queen, Emma; her best friend, Cristina; and Mark and Julian Blackthorn journey into the Courts of Faerie, where glittering revels hide bloody danger and no promise can be trusted. Meanwhile, rising tension between Shadowhunters and Downworlders has produced the Cohort, an extremist group of Shadowhunters dedicated to registering Downworlders and “unsuitable” Nephilim. They’ll do anything in their power to expose Julian’s secrets and take the Los Angeles Institute for their own.

When Downworlders turn against the Clave, a new threat rises in the form of the Lord of Shadows—the Unseelie King, who sends his greatest warriors to slaughter those with Blackthorn blood and seize the Black Volume. As dangers close in, Julian devises a risky scheme that depends on the cooperation of an unpredictable enemy. But success may come with a price he and Emma cannot even imagine, one that will bring with it a reckoning of blood that could have repercussions for everyone and everything they hold dear.

If you haven’t yet ordered your copy, you can purchase special editions at Target, Barnes And Noble, as well as Costco. All first edition copies of the book will feature 30 new rune illustrations from the book. The Costco edition features an interpretation of Julian’s portrait of Emma from Lady Midnight. The Target edition includes a beautiful map of Alicante. The Barnes And Noble edition has a deleted scene from Lord of Shadows, in which Emma and Julian, Shadowhunter warriors and soul mates, meet on Blackfriars Bridge in London.

If you’re waiting for your pre-ordered copy to come, like I am, you can read the first two and a half chapters here.

Happy reading and again, happy release day to both Cassandra Clare and to Lord Of Shadows. Let me know down in the comments how you’re spending this day!

“Everything, Everything” Movie Release.

As you may have seen, from the copious advertisements, Nicola Yoon’s 2015 novel Everything, Everything, has been made into a movie.

The movie stars Amandla Stenberg(Hunger Games) as Maddie Whittier, and Nick Robinson(Jurassic World) as Olly Bright. Other members of the cast including Anika Noni Rose(The Princess And The Frog), as Maddie’s Mom, Pauline, and Ana de la Reguera(Narcos) as Maddie’s nurse Carla.

This movie looks like it’s going to be really great, hopefully one of those few cases where the movie is better than the book.  Amandla Stenberg was a fantastic Rue in the Hunger Games I loved Nick Robinson in Jurassic World, and I’m really excited to be able to see more of him. I think both of these actors are amazing and I can’t wait to see what they bring to this new story. You can catch my review of the novel here, next Friday. The film enters a theater near you today, May 19th, 2017.

Please let me know what you think of the movie down in the comments!

The Shadowhunters: Casting, Clary!

Hey Guys! It’s Liv.

I have been waiting for this release ever since I found out that there was even going o be a T.V. show. I’m of course talking about the casting of the one, the only, Miss Clary Fray.

This, is our new Clary.

Katherine McNamara

This is Katherine McNamara. She started her career when she was thirteen, and she was in the Broadway play, A Little Night Music, she played Fredrika Armfeldt. I cannot even get over how happy I am about this. I loved her in Happyland, her character Harper was pretty great. I think that she’s a great actor. She’s also a dead ringer for Clary. Clary is described as delicate, fair skinned, and a red head. Does that remind you of anyone mentioned in this post? I’m so happy that she has been cast, I think that she’ll be a fantastic Clary!

Someone who I always just kind of pictured as Clary was Sasha from ABookUtopia. I love Sasha’s channel, and her videos are some of my favorites on Booktube, and, trust me, I watch a lot of Booktube. She looks like her, right? Well, I certainly think so. She’s also known for being Lily Collins’ Doppelganger. They look so dang similar, it’s pretty hard to differentiate who’s who in the picture on the right. You should definitely check out Sasha’s channel, her videos are so great, and so hilarious, I die laughing sometimes.

Thanks for stopping by! I can’t wait to find out the rest of the cast. See you soon!

The Shadowhunters: Casting Simon And Isabelle!

Hey Guys! It’s Liv. Something exciting happened today! Today, not one, but two new cast members were announced for The Shadowhunters T.V. Show! How great is that? Simon and Isabelle are casted, and, I think that these to actors are pretty spot on for Simon and Isabelle.

This, is Simon Lewis…

Alberto Rosende As Simon LewisGorgeous, right? Alberto Rosende is set to play Simon Lewis! Rosende is a pretty new face, he was in a short called The Swing Of Things and he played a Swing Dancer, and he has been in one episode of Blue Bloods. I think that he’ll do great, I don’t think he would’ve even been considered for the part if he wasn’t good.

Meet our new Isabelle Lightwood…

Emeraude Toubia As Isabelle Lightwood

Stunning, right? Emeraude Toubia is set to play Isabelle Lightwood! Toubia is also a pretty new face, she has been in one episode of 11-11 En Mi Cuadra Nada Cuadra, Cosita Linda, and Voltea Pa’Que Te Enamores. I think that she’ll do fantastic, and she’s pretty close to what I had pictured for Isabelle. I don’t think that she would have been given the part if she couldn’t handle it.

I trust the casting directors, because they want this to be a success just as much as we, the fans, do. Possibly even more. I think fresh faces are just what this show needs. I am super excited to find out the other cast members! Who would you like to see cast? Are you as excited for this show as I am? Don’t forget to check back here for news, updates and reviews! See you back here soon!
